This strategic brainstorming meeting, chaired by Prof Cao, shared intensive discussions about

  • significant gaps in data science and analytics innovation, development, education and services to push the community building and knowledge advancement;
  • the positioning, future directions, features and challenges of DSAA, in particular, making DSAA the flagship platform in fostering the data science and analytics research, development and training;
  • enhancing the inter-disciplinary features of DSAA with statistics, business and other disciplines where analytics could play an important role;
  • strengthening the substantial engagement of DSAA with core business such as energy, utility, manufacturing, environment, finance, and government;
  • collaborating with IEEE Big Data Initiatives on moving forward strategic aspects including grand challenges and standard building
  • collaborations between DSAA, American Statistical Association, the Institute of Mathematical Statistics and IEEE
