Travelling to Porto

Porto is served by a modern international airport, Francisco Sá Carneiro, which is located in the heart of the industrial north of the country, 11 km from the city of Porto, making it a privileged access point to this valuable commercial area. Many low-cost companies fly to Porto from several major European cities, such as London, Paris or Frankfurt. The price of these flights can be as low as 30 €, roundtrip. You should compare the combined price of flying to a major European airport and then fly to Porto with a low-cost carrier, with the regular carrier price for a trip ending in Porto.

Subway (Metro)

The easiest way to get from Porto Airport to the city centre is to take the metro. Line E (Violet) connects Airport Station to "Casa da Música" Station. The access to the Station from the interior of the Airport is extremely simple and practical, being fully signalled. The occasional Andante title required for travelling between the Airport Station and Oporto city centre is a Z4. In the Andante shop located in the arrivals zone of the Airport you can also buy the Andante Tour, an unlimited and intermodal title valid for 1 or 3 days. The journey to the city centre takes about 30 minutes and a single fare is 2 €. 

Bus

There are regular bus connections to the city center (buses 601, 602, 604 and 3M serve the airport). A single fare is also 2 € (Buses and Metro share the Andante system). To connect “Casa da Música” Metro Station and the Sheraton Hotel there are regular bus connections (buses 201, 203, 502, 503 and exit at António Cardoso Bus Station). 

Taxi

Taxis are available 24 hours a day from outside Arrivals. A 20 % surcharge is payable at weekends, on public holidays and between 21:00 and 06:00. Taxi service to the Airport to Porto center should cost about 20 € and take between 20 and 30 minutes. Large size baggage may incur on additional cost (about 2 €). 

Shuttle

There is a low-cost shuttle service between the airport and the Porto hotels. You must book in advance in 100RUMOS.
