How recommender systems relate to species distribution modeling
Keynote
10-07-2021 - 08:30-09:30
Species distribution modeling refers to algorithmic analyses of species occurrence over time and space used in conservation biology, ecology and evolution. In this talk I will discuss species distribution modeling for the past, asymmetry of uncertainties species occurrence data and optimization criteria that can help to handle them. The talk will highlight similarities between species distribution modeling and recommender systems tasks in machine learning.
